New swimming pool will be built in the sea park in Bourgas

The construction of a new swimming pool complex started in the Bourgas sea garden.

The swimming pool complex will be built on the place of an old pool which is located behind the flowers exhibition Flora. For decades the old swimming pools were used for irrigating the vegetation in the park.

This madness will be rectified and on their place we will built two swimming pools - one 50 meters and another smaller and shallower - 20 meters for beginners. Both swimming pools will have a heating system for heating the water working on natural gas. This will allow the swimming pools to be used 10 months of the year, and in case of a mild winter, all year round - said the mayor of Bourgas - Dimitar Nikolov who together with his deputy for construction Kostadin Markov made a survey on the building works of the swimming pool complex.

In the boundaries of the complex there will be a servicing building, which will include bathrooms and toilets, dressing room for women and men, room for couches and a coffee shop. The competition for the project was won by a Bourgas construction company. the budget for the complex is 1.300 000 levs.

There are five sports clubs for swimming in Bourgas and two for water volley. For now the clubs used the indoor swimming pool in the Youth culture center, and during the summer the outdoor one in the district of Slaveikov, but the base is not enough for a big city as Bourgas.

The new swimming complex in the sea garden will give an opportunity for the sports clubs for swimming and water ball to work properly and to gather more children in their clubs. The municipality of Bourgas will keep looking for more opportunities for expanding the sport base in the city.
