Project for improving the sea garden in Varna

A competition for a project for Alley first, announced Holding Varna JSC, which bought 118 decares in the Sea garden in Varna. The company presented its investment program on a meeting with its share holders, medias, non government institutions and citizens of the sea capital.

According to the signed contract, the company have to invest 73.1 million levs in the next 3 years, announced the company's managing directors - Ivelina Shaban and Milcho Bliznakov.

The money will be used for building the infrastructure, supporting the land slides, the sewage, pedestrian and bike trails, sport centers, rehabilitation centers and clubs which will work all year round.

The plan includes also, building of yacht marina and fishing village. The access to the beach alley will be expanded, said Bliznakov.

The comprehensive plan for the region, approved by the Varna municipal council during 2003, approves the construction of four hotels, some of which up to 10 floors high, with total capacity of 1100 beds.

The price of 11 747 445 for which the government sold the 118 000 square meters is defined by independent evaluators, added Bliznakov. The deal was concluded without auction, because the project is certified as first class by the Bulgarian agency for investments.

The deputy mayor of Varna - architect Venelin Zhechev, who announced that he is present on the meeting as an expert, he advised the owners to publish parts of the contract, which are not confidential. In that way according to him the public opinion will calm down.

In the documentation with which he was acquainted is indicated that the first thing that has to be done is the infrastructure, and the owner does not have the right to sell parts of the attractive plot of land. The construction of 11 new ways of access to the alley, the height of the building should be lower than the displacement of the slope, and opened competition for the conception of the alley, recommended Zhechev.

He said that building a new infrastructure, according to the evaluations from 2 years ago, costs 75-80 euro per square meter and the amount of 73.1 million levs will be insufficient.

Ecologists, non government institutions and political parties already announced their negative opinion and want the deal to be canceled, which was approved by an order of the previous district governor of the Varna district - Hristo Kontrov in the last days of the previous government. Against the sale was organized a written protest.
