Planex will begin construction of business park Sofia 1 on September 30 2009 on the site of the former Electronika factory in Slatina. The complex will span 36 000 sq m, Dnevnik daily reported on September 29, citing a Planex press release.
The main investor in the enterprise is Israeli company BSR Sofia, while the investment amounts to about 20 million euro. Planex Build with Zdravko Kardashev as CEO are entrusted with the main construction work in the project as selected by the Israelis themselves; Planex, however, have not disclosed on their website the deadline for the site's completion.
"I am very pleased that in the face of stiff competition, we won the trust of BSR Sofia and were entrusted with the contract," said Kardashev, quoted by Dnevnik. "We are hoping that with the beginning of this big project, this will send a positive signal to other investors that the business climate in Bulgaria is improving, especially for investors who are in it for the long term, as is the case with BSR Sofia." "This is a clear indication that there potential in the country, and that the appropriate time for more construction has arrived," he said.
According to the company's own website, "Planex Build Ltd is a construction company with 100 per cent private capital. It is part of the Planex Holding group. The company specialises in construction and investment in residential, public-administrative and trade entities in the Sofia region."
