Spanish Company To Build Tourism Complex Near Sofia

Spanish company Ferry Group plans to construct a sports and tourism complex near Sofia.

The company purchased 881 000 sq m state-owned land in the village of Kutina, Darik Radio reported.

Ferry Group paid six million leva for the land.

Sofia regional governor Todor Modev said that the project fulfillment would bring another 300 million leva of investment and would create 2 000 work places.

The complex will include a golf course, sports complex with pools and tennis courts, bungalows and commercial zone.

Ferry group owner Manuel Ferry Sanchez said that the complex construction would probably begin in March 2007.

Ferry group works in the tourism, sports, residential property construction and agriculture sectors.

Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov awarded the company a first-class investor certificate in February 2006.
